They allow you to enjoy your favorite foods without worry. The secure, permanent hold between the titanium implant and your jaw bone functions just like your natural tooth root, allowing you to eat the foods that you enjoy.
They will look beautiful and natural. Whether you replace one or all of your teeth, you will be able to smile confidently knowing that your new teeth look beautiful and natural.
They are a highly versatile tool. Whether you want to replace one tooth or many teeth, implants can support a variety of different prosthetic attachments to fit your needs. They can also be used to anchor temporary dentures or orthodontic tools.
They preserve the health and appearance of your mouth. When you have missing teeth, the bone beneath your gums can start to recede, causing your mouth and lips to look more sunken in. Extensive bone loss can cause oral health complications, but dental implants naturally stimulate the bone around the teeth, just like your natural tooth’s root would. This stimulation preserves the structure of your oral and facial bones. Additionally, implants prevent dental shifting and other problems associated with missing teeth.

What Our Patients Say About Us
Meet Dr. Nichole Cauwels, DDS
I was born right here in Sioux Falls. I was lucky enough to have attended Washington High School downtown for 2 years prior to moving to the new building on the east side. I was among the first class of students to graduate from the "new" high school. After graduation, I went to UNL in Nebraska for college. I graduated with honors from UNMC College of Dentistry in 2000. I decided to further my education by completing a residency at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. There I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience in all aspects of general and specialty dentistry. I was asked to stay on to help teach at the program, while starting my career in cosmetics and private dentistry.
I have 4 children. I am blessed to have both 2 daughters and 2 sons. We enjoy spending time on the farm. We have a menagerie of chickens, pigs, dogs, cats, miniature cattle and even a tortoise. I love photography and have plenty of great subjects between the wildlife, kids and the farm critters.
Dr. Kendra Zuercher, DDS
I was born and raised in Pierre, SD where I attended Riggs High School. I spent my spare time swimming as a member of the Pierre swim team, playing the trombone in the school band, singing in the chorus and acting in school plays. After high school, I studied Biology at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and was a member of the Synchronized Swimming Team. I applied to dental school and was accepted and able to attend at the end of my junior year of college. I attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City, IA where I graduated in June of 2008.
I had several interesting dental conditions as a child including impacted teeth, congenitally missing teeth and the need for orthodontics. I was always curious as to what was happening on the other side of the chair during my treatment and that led to my decision to become a dentist while I was still in high school. I have been interested and passionate about dentistry ever since.I am a member of the South Dakota Dental Association and the American Dental Association and enjoy furthering my dental knowledge through various continuing education opportunities and collaborating with fellow dentists.
Dental implants are a wonderful alternative for treating empty spaces caused by tooth loss or for stabilizing a loose fitting denture. The procedure is virtually painless and is usually completed in 30-45 minutes.
Dental implants are a long term permanent solution for tooth loss. In most cases, dental implants offer the best aesthetics and can't be differentiated from your natural teeth.
Dental implants are a quick efficient solution to replace a missing tooth. A bridge requires cutting on adjacent healthy tooth structures or removing good crowns to close the space. Research shows a dental bridge has an average life span of 10 years and replacement becomes complicated when a bridge fails. A dental implant is maintained well, can last a life time.
Most patients that have had dentures for ten or more years have experienced a change in the way their denture fits and is retained. They will slowly lose bone over time making it difficult to chew on food or speak with their denture. A denture can physically be snapped onto a dental implant allowing for much more proficient speaking, chewing, and confidence in your denture.
